I posted the statement of purpose just now after hearing that it had gone missing.

I hope that a more meaningful simple statement can be adopted, so that members of unions and community groups can take it to their constituencies off site and obtain support for Occupy Boston.

Some of the concerns the have brought people to Dewey Plaza are, to my knowledge, concerns about jobs, housing, health care, education, war, deceptive banking practices, and political corruption. A simple statement listing these would be better than the "Statement of purpose" adopted October 23. I would like to know if the GA has approved a process for drafting a statement of purpose.

The following living document was ratified by Occupy Boston’s General
Assembly (GA) October 23, 2011:

We the people who have occupied Dewey Square, under the name Occupy
Boston, have done so in order to maintain a place, where all voices
are welcome for the open discussion of ideas, grievances, and
potential solutions to the problems apparent in our society. We are
and will be holding general assemblies where proposals may be brought
to the group as a whole, to be consented to. We have and will continue
to occupy this space for the purpose of DEMOCRACY.
