FWG Meeting 1/15 Notes: Matt Agenda 1. Proposal prioritization (Robin's proposal) 2. Fixing announcements 3. Newcomer orientation at GA 4. Burlington visitors: streamlining GAs 5. Emergency announcements and proposals 1. Proposal prioritization --underworked proposals with interesting/sensation topics are getting priority. WGs should still get priority 2. Fixing announcements --could we put announcements on whiteboard or on handouts? --hearing things several times, like we do now, is good. people learn differently. --announcements are the highlight of GA for some --the facilitator could read announcements him- or herself --announcers could line up next to facilitator and proceed down the line (support for trying this) --we could do announcements in stacks of 5 3. Newcomer orientation at GA --for new people, integrating in GA is difficult --how many new people come to GA and never return? now no Statement of Unity, [Statement of Autonomy] posted, now people want to enforce them... --at Occupy Burlington, members are asked at start of GA to introduce themselves to 2 new people they've never met so group better integrates --Good Neighbor Agreement could be put up on whiteboard --ground rules should be printed out? --consensus guidelines could be printed out and passed 4. Burlington visitors: streamlining GAs --time limits should be imposed and enforced --7min allotted to present prposals 5. Emergency proposals and announcements --Daniel will continue to work on this
