This is what I gave to Theresa when we were generating a draft SWOT to present to the Roadmap group as an example to start discussion:

My input so far:

Strengths:

- the whole world is watching
- common issues
- large numbers of people are waiting for "direction"
- movement building expertise
- social media expertise
- volunteer reach
- ability to get press
- ability to remain organic (bubbling up, as opposed to central control)

Weaknesses:

- spreading ourselves too thin, too many actions
- press is focused on pranks and marches, not on policy work

Opportunities:

- get press to write more about the police work we're doing
- prioritization and focus
--- direct action: prioritize and get nationwide coordination (survey monkey to choose direct actions?)
--- policy development/coordination
--- ability to press corporations and politicians to act "accordingly"

Threats:

- lack of coordination
- in-fighting
- lack of education on basic strategic/management tools (contact lists, roles matrices, etc etc)
