Decolonizers
Poncke Princen (November 21, 1925, The Hague – February 22, 2002, Jakarta)
For me the case of Poncke Princen shows how decolonization goes beyond race, etnicity, and nationality. After the official recognition of the Indonesian independence in 1949 he was to become a dissident parlementarian in the new Indonesian government (in 1956) and a prominent human rights activist.
