INTRODUCTION

[ATTENTION SHEBANS; WITH THIS DOCUMENT ALSO, WE NEED TO DEFINE FUNCTION--- WHAT/WHO IS IT FOR? iS FOR OURSELVES? iF SO, DO WE REALLY NEED A LOT OF EXPLANATION, RATIONALE?? DOESN'T OUR "FAQ" DO THIS JOB??}

The Sheba Green Cleaning Co-Op emerged from Occupy Boston as activists decided to start to "Occupy the Economy" by forming their own Green Cleaning Co-operative, worker-owned/operated company. The intent is to show people how to start co-operatives that operate in a horizontal-democratically run enterprise. Modelled after "anarchist" organizational principles, exhibitied in operations such as the Community Builders Cooperative, which has been operating under such principles for over 30 years, we hope to develop experience and templates/instructional tools to help the Cooperative Movement flourish.

While we are only one of many co-ops starting across the country, we believe that each one is important, as we try to catalyze enough of these co-operatives that by 2050, we'll see over 50% of the workforce working in democratically run enterprise. In this way, we can reshape capitalism.
