In place of it's weekly meeting this Friday, the Decolonize to Liberate Working Group of Occupy Boston will be joining with Anti-Oppression and People of Color Working Groups in support of the Palestine Land Day speak out and march!  We hope to see you there. Please help spread the word!

Global March to Jerusalem
No War on Iran

Join us in Boston to stand in solidarity with a global effort to bring justice to Palestine and to end US and Israeli aggression against Iran.

Palestine Land Day speak out and march
Friday, March 30th, 6PM
Copley Square, downtown Boston
Speakout and then march to Park St.

Facebook event:

Free Palestine! | No war on Iran! | Boycott Israel!

Right now, people of conscience from Asia, Africa and Europe are headed to Jerusalem to stand in solidarity with Palestinians suffering under Israeli apartheid and colonialism.

The historic day 30th March marks Palestine Land Day in Palestinian  national memory. The march’s aim is to mark it as an international event to demonstrate solidarity with Palestinians and to protect Jerusalem.

The march will demand freedom for Jerusalem and its people and to put an end to the Apartheid, ethnic cleansing and policies affecting the people, land and sanctity of Jerusalem.

Since 1948, Israel has steadily eaten away at Palestinian communities and replaced them with Israeli colonial entities.

To this very day, Israel expels Palestinians from their homes, demolishes homes, and colonizes whole neighborhoods. East Jerusalem is under attack from right wing settlers supported and protected by the government. It is slow but steady ethnic cleansing.

Decolonize to Liberate seeks to shed the dominator ethos and systems of oppression that come from colonization, to stand in solidarity with indigenous resistance worldwide, and to help restore our relationships to Mother Earth.

Decolonize to Liberate will resume our regular meetings at the First Parish Church in Cambridge the following Friday, 4/6/12, and debrief on our learnings in participating in the speak out and march as well as continue our discussion of our meeting with the decolonize activist from Puerto Rico.  In a couple weeks we will also be showing a film again to deepen our political and/or historical analysis of colonialism.  Stay tuned!

Many thanks to everyone who joined us for the Decolonize to Liberate Occupy Boston Community Gathering.  Check out the recap of the event on OccupyBoston.org:

As a signal to the national “Occupy” movement and to members of First Nations (Indigenous Peoples) who have felt excluded by the colonialist language used to name this movement, it shall be declared that “Occupy Boston” aspires to “Decolonize Boston” with the guidance and participation of First Nations.

[Excerpt from the Statement of Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples introduced by this working group and passed by the Occupy Boston General Assembly on October 8, 2011.  Read the full resolution, here.]
