Friends of Occupy Boston

A question from Linda

Two points: I see that there is the statement that there was an agreement that we would work through a "Friends of OB." That's not my recollection; I understood Brian to say, at that time, that was his preference. My understanding was/is that a FOB would be a legal entity of some kind (501:c3, 4; trust, private foundation etc) defeating the purpose of this whole project. We didn't define what an FOB would be, at the last conversation, so there couldn't have been an agreement to it then.
Though an FOB isn't defined in the notes, perhaps you did define & agree to a definition at this meeting. If so, that should be spelled out in the notes; it's at the heart of the proposed relationship.

Friends of Occupy Boston ("FOB") is mentioned in the Aug 14 UFE meetings notes (at the bottom of page 1). https://docs.google.com/document/d/1e_Kh7E3oXcuZDjkJgSy6MKqy6Huqjj6cbLSMirxumXk/edit?pli=1. That's the same context in which Brian spoke of FOB -- an organization to limit UFE's liability. UFE would work directly with FOB, but not directly with OB. That's about as close to a definition as we got. There was no discussion of FOB's structure.
