Talk:Participate

Hi user:pcovery, just curious about the page edits:

  • Work_at Dewey_Square->Help_out_for_awhile and
  • Work_with_the_Occupiers->Support_a_Cause.

Got something against the word 'work' :) Both changes seem so mushy and general. I think we need language that reinforces that this is valuable 'work' and that there is a role for all the 99% but that it will always be 'with' the occupiers since there is no movement if they disappear and that it is not just for awhile but is actually a new movement, not just 'a (generic) Cause'.

Take this issue survey

I am circulating this survey in order to gauge the views of the occupiers on various issues. Please fill out this survey if you haven't already; the more people who fill it out, the better the results. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?hl=en_US&formkey=dHhSSGl1dnVsVFVaOTlUa3RFck04RHc6MQ&ifq

Without living in the encampment, I want to participate

user:DebakaAmberpaw Oct 5, 2011 9:09 am

I am finding it hard to know when marches or events are occurring so I can try and join in them. I welcome help and suggestions.

The best way to help would be to go to Tent City, find out by contacting the direct action and outreach committees and then posting it on the wiki.

So others can go to. Or get people's phone numbers so that you can call them periodically and get updates!

Working Groups are primary place to plug in

As working groups are the primary place to plug-in and be intimately involved with making things happen and having a voice in proposals and decisions, shouldn't we give them some prominence on the wiki? Perhaps their own tab? Or a more noticeable section on the Participate page? We're all trying to build participation in the working groups so that work can get done, but you'd hardly know they existed, much less are important given the layout of the wiki.
