1. a. If a member of Occupy Boston member feels unsafe as a result of another member of OB in a sexual manner, they are entitled to notify the Safety Working Group and request that the following process be started:
b. If a member of Occupy Boston finds that another member of Occupy Boston is a Level 3 Sex Offender and feel that the member poses a threat to the OB community they are entitled to inform the Safety Working Group.
2. The Safety Working group would then ask the accused the voluntarily leave the movement for one week and notify the Wellness/Mediation Working Group and the Women’s Caucus. At least one member from all three groups will meet, discuss and announce the issue at the next GA.
3. The GA will then vote as a community if the accused will be asked to leave permanently, if further research into the accusation is needed or to dismiss the accusation outright. This safety group will determine is the accused should be named for safety reasons to the OB community or if it is best for the accused to be nameless at this point.
4. If:
a. The vote decides to ask the accused to leave immediately the same group will contact the accused and relay this information.
b. The vote decides further research is needed the group will assess how much time is needed, follow through with the research, ask the accused to refrain from participating in OB for that time period and re-present to GA when research is completed. A second vote will occur at that time to determine if the accused will stay or be asked to leave.
c. The vote is dismissed the accused and the concerned party will be notified immediately.
5. Should the accused be voted by the GA process to leave OB and choose not to voluntarily leave or later shows up at any public Occupy events an announcement will be made at the next General Assembly making the community aware of this and decide on the best course of action.
6. This proposal, like all proposals, is a living document and can be added to, subtracted from or amended at any time with subsequent proposals.
