GENERAL ISSUES (brainstorming and process discussion) The following are documents that have been proposed by someone in a working group for consideration as language to include in a future Occupy Boston statement. The goal is to work on these documents til we have consensus in the working group. And then reach out to other working groups til it appears ready for a GA vote. Feel free to work on these documents. The culture generally starts with email group discussion and then leads to "active editing" of a specific document by the group. Currently this is the document that the group is working on.

OTHER PROPOSED LANGUAGE, not currently in "real-time-play" in the email discussion group:

All documents created by this Working Group are DRAFT until it is approved by the GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

SPECIFIC ISSUES These documents are in process work pages and other proposed language about a SPECIFIC REFORM IDEA or other REGULATORY/LEGAL/PROCESS changes that someone wants to discuss at a future date. Be aware that any of these docs could be changing and/or picked up by "the email group" for "real-time" discussion and change. So your work may "disapear" quickly, if a large number of people decide to work on it. The email group, in particular, may all of a sudden focus on a particular document and make lots of changes. The email group consists of a large number of active participants that descend on a document and make lots of change. This is part of the collaboration process, and the group appears to believe that it works. So enjoy changing, and enjoy collaborating...

If you contribute specific background info, please cite a source. And if you have specific expertise in a topic, please indicate so with a "bracket" and some kind of desription of the experience whence the opinion came. Or put your comments in the "discussion" tab, so we can understand what you're doing. We can track who made what changes via the "history", but it helps to understand the construct/background/intent.

Reducing the Cost of Government

  • Senior Executive Service (has it outlived its usefulness and/or is it contributing to unnecessary expenditure)
  • Bring Congressional Benefits and ALL Gov't employees benefits in line with median worker
  • Stop spending on "roads to no where"

Page Notes

Move to rename: ditch "SPP," - adopt "Reforms": reforms is not deep enough, restructuring is better.
This avoids the extreme vagueness of 'ideas' and the over-complication of 'spp.' I will try to post a broad announcement on the google group to invite further discussion. [TF: yeah, but we're merging the facilitation/ideas group w/SPP, right?]

Sections to be addressed:
Strategies, Issues, Objectives, Finished Proposals, Tactics, Meeting Notes (and schedule), Background Info.

Who knows what this note is for? I can't figure it out. Can someone explain it, or if you authored, it erase it?
