==ART = ACTION CASA Community Gathering, Jan 30. ==

On Monday, Jan. 30  at 6:00 pm the Creative Arts and Subversive Actions Working Group will host a Community Gathering that will propel OB into the stratosphere!  There will be something for everyone and it will all scare the 1% to bejezus/envelope them in a green Valentine cloud of love.

Yes! One of the six action packed projects will be “Valentines for the Beloved Opposition”! Yes! That’s OB loves BO! Yes!  We will be mailing them! We will also be work shopping guerrilla theater skits by Aria and Stuart, recruiting for Street Art forays, making Tiny Tents and exploring the possibilities of Mutation is Creation’s overhead projector.  Everything will be set up at workstations so that folks can move freely between projects while munching on creative goodies.  Mid-way through the evening there will be a short performance.  At the end of the evening, a whole fleet of Tiny Tents will be escorted out into the larger world to spread their tent-y goodness to shoppers everywhere. The Valentines will make a two-week appearance at an undisclosed location before being mailed to their beloved recipients.  The point, said the un-named Street Art point person, is “To act.” Aria and Stuart said, “No experience necessary.”

CASA hopes that this gathering will serve as prototype launching pads for similar gatherings and welcomes creative interventions to any and all agendas. Bring your funny hat and Jedi light sabers. Check the OB calendar for location.

'''People's Tours'''

The Tiny Tent Task Force makes and distributes tiny tents.
The Boston area has a rich history of contested spaces, important protests, and shady corporations. People's Tours will give a series of free public tours that explore these different areas and issues. Some walking tours will explore neighborhoods that hosted historic protests (such as the South End). Others will look at contested developments (such as hazardous waste sites). Still others will examine contested businesses (such as the financial industry);
